Utilitarian Beauty
This bag is an iron fist in a velvet glove. It’s the bag you can carry your world around in. If you’re out for an entire day, it’s a given there’s a laptop and quite possibly a second pair of shoes that you can slip on just before your next meeting. If you’re like me, there’s also a lot of other objects in there, not all of them necessary. The immediate sense of workmanship is noted from the moment I first encounter the Grocer Bag, from the flat bottom to the tapered shoulder straps that are the perfect length, particularly on a sizeable piece like this. I love the utilitarian thinking of this bag, yet it’s anything but that in its seductive appearance. Crafted in the softest black Italian aniline leather with equally soft tonal suede lining, the Grocer has an interior zip pocket and a beautiful silhouette, making it the chicest everyday bag or weekender I will own. I know I’ll be carrying this bag when we’re all allowed to travel again. Until then, I’ll carry my own little world on my shoulder in style.
