A-ESQUE X Ngaarlu: The Exhibition

An exhibition of art and design by Ngaarlu, hosted at the A-ESQUE Atelier in Richmond — a personal storytelling of woven artworks and the journey of water and memory.

We were proud to host an exhibition of works by Otis Hope Carey, presented alongside our own pieces in a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and design. Running from 18 to 25 February, the exhibition was an immersive experience of culture and intentional craft — and a fitting way to celebrate the Melbourne Art Fair, a moment when our city gathers in recognition of art that moves, challenges and connects.

NGAARLU's debut woven tapestries found a natural home within the Atelier. Both practices are rooted in the belief that what is made with intention carries something beyond the object itself — a philosophy that made this collaboration feel less like an event and more like a genuine meeting of values.

At the Atelier

We were honoured to be joined by Otis and Sophie in person — their presence bringing an intimacy and warmth to the week that those who visited will carry with them. To hear Otis speak about the journey of water and memory woven into each piece, and to witness the response of those who came through.

For NGAARLU, this was their first design house project. To have it exhibited within the Atelier — a space built around the making process and a deep respect for craft — felt like a true privilege. We extend our sincere thanks to Otis and Sophie for entrusting us with their work, and to everyone who joined us across the week. Collaborations rooted in shared values and genuine passion are always the ones that stay with you.
