The Handcrafted Flower Vine Project

A creative collaboration with Christelle Scifo

Announcing our project with renowned florist and Creative Director of fleurette, Christelle Scifo. A collection of handcrafted flower vines, designed to move beyond the expected and challenge the traditional function of a key ring or bag charm as something far more evocative. 

Blooming from a shared appreciation of craftsmanship, form and intuitive design we wanted to created a series of artful leather objects, designed to be pieces of beauty and desire, timeless in spirit and intimate in feel. Every piece invites personal expression and is made to be worn in ways that feel unique to the individual.

The Making

Crafted by our talented craftspeople at the Melbourne Atelier, each piece is created from leather off-cuts accumulated throughout the year.

We used a knife from the archives to cut and carve each individual petal. The petals are stitched by hand and gently formed to build three dimensional flowers. They are then threaded through a leather vine that is braided and woven into a sculptural strap that sets the base of each piece.

Launching in a palette of plum, burgundy and brown we are inspired by the work of Christelle Scifo.

A Sydney Presentation

We proudly presented this project for the first time at our Sydney Residency at dedece Atrium. Unveiling our flower vine collection amongst friends and collaborators. Uniting our considered artistry with Christelle's botanical vision, the flower vines were curated with stunning florals and selected food, inspired by the suede leather colours of the collection palette.
