A-ESQUE launches one-of-one leather bag series
Melbourne-based Atelier A-ESQUE will launch The Bag in Braid, a collection of one-of-one hand-braided leather bags, on October 1, 2026. Developed over 18 months at the brand’s Melbourne Atelier, each piece is constructed from hundreds of individually cut, skived and hand-plaited leather strips. Founder and creative director Amanda Rettig describes the process as “closer to couture than conventional leather goods”, with each bag taking several days to complete. Prices start at $2,000, with the collection available through A-esque World on High Street and exclusively at Parlour X in Sydney.
