A-ESQUE World

A-ESQUE World

A new cultural destination. Our home on High Street, Armadale.

We have always believed that the most meaningful things are made at the intersection of craft, desire, and considered design. A-ESQUE world is where that belief becomes a place you can walk into.

On 07 March 2026, we opened the doors to our new concept space at 968 High Street, Armadale — conceived not as a store in the traditional sense, but as a living cultural destination. Gallery-like in its curation, immersive in its sensibility, and ever-evolving in its programming. It is retail reimagined.

The Concept

After various trips to Milan's Salone del Mobile, Amanda wanted to echo that immersive, theme-driven energy and bring something genuinely new to retail here in Melbourne.

"A-ESQUE world shifts the dial on retail experiences for 2026," she says. "Delivering creative installations and experimental retail moments. Whilst the space will continue to evolve over time, our opening focus was to restore the High Street location to its original material and layer in our opening exhibition."

Monthly themes, artist collaborations, and curated installations mean the space is never static. Inspired by galleries, we are wanting to encourage return visits — we want our community to keep coming back for good reason.

The Space

The design reflects Amanda's signature aesthetic — sculptural, considered, and deeply material. Found objects, art, and furniture pieces are woven throughout, drawing on a philosophy long evident in the Atelier and in Amanda's own home. What was once a private sensibility is now a permanent cultural destination, open to all.

The Atelier remains open for those who wish to witness the craft process firsthand — two distinct but complementary ways to experience our world.

"At a time when less is more, our focus remains on creating for desire, not need," Amanda reflects. "We want the High Street experience to draw people back — to be eager to see what's going on, to discover and delight. It will be another creative platform that shares more about A-ESQUE in a new environment, and one that will frequently change to showcase incredible local Australian artists — just as a traditional gallery does."

The Opening Exhibition

Our first art collaboration brings Ashley Eriksmoen, represented by Sophie Gannon Gallery, into the centre of the space — continuing a creative relationship that has existed since our launch in 2014.

Ashley's practice challenges the notion of furniture as inert object. By salvaging discarded timber pieces and reconfiguring them into new forms, her work asks us to reconsider what we acquire, what we discard, and what endures. It is a philosophy that resonates deeply with our own commitment to longevity over trend, and craft over convenience.

The Experience

From the curated playlist to the scent, every element of A-ESQUE world has been composed to immerse. It is a space that celebrates materiality, cultural collaboration, and desire-led creation — a multi-sensory encounter that reflects the full breadth of who we are.

With a rotating programme of artists-in-residence and immersive exhibitions, we are committed to including Melbourne's thriving creative community — bringing culture to the street, in this subtle way is the foundation upon which A-ESQUE world will evolve.
