An Intimate Evening: Before the World Opened
The opening of A-ESQUE World marked two beginnings at once: the launch of our new space on High Street, and the debut of our first world collection — presented as an immersive installation of new work shown for the very first time.
The evening before we opened our doors to the public, we gathered a small group of friends, collaborators, and community to experience the space as it was intended: quietly and unhurriedly. The Atelier collection was installed with careful consideration, each piece placed across custom-built plinths to encourage a sense of movement and close encounter.
Alongside the collection, were a series of sculptural chair works by artist Ashley Eriksmoen, in collaboration with Sophie Gannon Gallery. These pieces sat in quiet dialogue with our own, grounding the space in the cultural and material sensibility we have always envisioned for A-ESQUE World.
The evening unfolded exactly as we had hoped — filled with warm conversation and a shared understanding of what this space could become. The pairing of our Atelier collection with Eriksmoen’s exhibition felt entirely natural within an environment designed around craftsmanship, materiality, and considered design.
I look forward to bringing to life immersive themes and a rotating program of art and Atelier exhibitions in a space envisioned to be a cultural destination, defined by a commitment to craftsmanship. - Amanda Retting
Guests were welcomed with thoughtful catering by Together Nourished — chips with crème fraîche and caviar, and champagne passed on silver trays — while Flowers Vasette brought a sculptural floral presence that completed the atmosphere.
It felt, in the best possible way, like a beginning.
